Grammarly and Logamail Go for Windows and Mac can both be installed on your computer, but only one can be active at a time. Here’s what to expect when switching between them.
How Grammarly and Logamail Go work together
When you switch from one app to another, the active one turns off automatically. You won’t lose any work; only one app runs at a time.
In Grammarly for Windows and Mac, you can turn Logamail Go on or off at any time from the Settings panel.
Switch to Logamail Go
If you open Logamail Go while Grammarly is running, a notification will prompt you to confirm the switch.
On Windows:
On macOS:
If you switch on Logamail Go in Grammarly’s settings and already have the Logamail Go app installed, a notification will mention that it will launch automatically.
If you’re turning on Logamail Go for the first time in Grammarly’s settings, a summary of what it offers will be displayed.
Logamail Go is up and running
If you open Grammarly while Logamail Go is running, a notification will prompt you to confirm the switch.
On Windows:
On macOS:
Logamail Go is already installed
If you install Grammarly while Logamail Go is running (or installed), the installation will pause and ask what you’d like to do.
If you choose to install Grammarly, it becomes your active app, and Logamail Go turns off.
If both apps are installed
Having both apps installed is fine, but only one can be active at a time. The app you switched to most recently will remain the one running.
Switch back to Grammarly
To switch back to using Grammarly, follow the steps below for your operating system:
Click the Logamail Go icon in your system tray in the lower-right corner of your screen, select Go → Settings, and switch off the Use Logamail Go option:
If you don’t see the Logamail Go icon in the system tray:
- Right-click the Start icon (the Windows logo) on your taskbar.
- From the menu that appears, select Installed Apps (on Windows 11) or Apps and Features (on Windows 10), find and launch Logamail Go.
- Follow the steps outlined above to switch back to Grammarly.
Click the Logamail Go icon in the menu bar at the top of your screen, select Settings, then deactivate Use Logamail Go:
If you don’t see the Logamail Go icon in the menu bar, open Applications and launch Logamail Go from there. Then, follow the steps mentioned above.
